As the organizer and speaker coach for this landmark event, I leveraged my expertise in communication, leadership, and performance coaching to help each speaker deliver a truly impactful message. The energy at TEDxGrandPark 2019 was truly something special. Held right in the heart of Downtown LA, the venue pulsed with a vibrant mix of anticipation and excitement. You could feel the city’s diverse spirit permeating every corner. As both the organizer and speaker coach, I was deeply invested in creating an event that lived up to its theme: ‘Bridging the Divide.’ We wanted to bring together voices from every facet of Los Angeles’ rich cultural tapestry, and I believe we achieved just that.
Working with this incredible lineup of speakers was an absolute privilege. Each individual brought a unique perspective and passion to the stage. I particularly remember the powerful presentation by Liang Wu from Green City Solutions, who traveled all the way from Germany to unveil his revolutionary ‘City Tree.’ Imagine, a scientifically-backed solution already deployed in major European cities, capable of cleaning the very air we breathe! It was a moment that truly embodied the power of innovative ideas to transform our world.
But TEDxGrandPark wasn’t just about the talks. We wanted to create an immersive experience for our audience. The TEDxGrandPark hub was a hive of activity, featuring interactive exhibits that engaged the senses and sparked conversation. Rachel London‘s synesthetic art and music created a mesmerizing blend of visual and auditory experiences, while the talented students from Grand Arts High School showcased their incredible visual art. We even had a live drawing artist capturing the energy of the event as it unfolded.
These experiences, combined with the powerful messages shared from the stage, created an atmosphere of connection and inspiration. It was a testament to the power of community, the importance of diverse voices, and the ability of ideas to bridge divides. And honestly, it’s a principle I carry with me in all my coaching and consulting work. Because at the end of the day, it’s about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and making a real impact.
